Microsoft warns of Windows 11 24H2 gaming performance issues

ree

Because of documented problems that result in crashes in the Asphalt 8 game and Easy Anti-Cheat blue screens, Microsoft has prohibited Windows 24H2 upgrades on a few computers.

When using or quitting Asphalt 8, the game may freeze with an error, necessitating a restart in order to continue.

"After installing Windows11, version 24H2, Asphalt 8 (Airborne) may not work properly. You may have to restart the game in order to recover from the exception if it stops responding while you are using it or shutting it down, according to Microsoft.

Additionally, the company is trying to fix a compatibility problem that Windows 11 24H2 has with the Easy Anti-Cheat program, which is usually included with various games to stop players from cheating in online multiplayer games.

Only devices running the vPro platform with Intel Alder Lake+ processors are impacted by this known problem. Affected devices may also occasionally (very infrequently) stop or display a blue screen with the error message "MEMORY_MANAGEMENT" when launching or engaging in specific games.

Most Windows 11 24H2 PCs that are having this problem are running Easy Anti-Cheat drivers that were published before to April 2024.

If Redmond's update has a compatible version of Easy Anti-Cheat, then it could be able to help fix the problem.
